Rangitikei District Libraries, Marton, July 2007.

Short stories and poetry entered into a competition run by the Rangitikei District Council Libraries, November-December 2006.

The prize-winning entry was a poem by Elizabeth Coleman ‘We’re saving on sunscreen in Marton’ and the book contains three other poems by her.

In addition to other entries into the competition, which range from painting the Toi Toi Viaduct to the pub at Whangaehu, from South African roads to generosity in Bulls, the book includes contributions from school children in the District (particularly Pukeokahu School, east of Taihape), a selection of photographs from the Rangitikei District Council’s archives and a transcript of the work diary kept by the Rangitikei County Clerk (Harold Richardson) in January 1934.
